Michelle O’Neill, certified nutrition coach, was on Cz the Day! this past Saturday and shared her opinions about having a healthy relationship with food. Her fist ah-ha moment came in her early 20s when she was an aerobics instructor. Although she was in great shape at her natural weight, she found herself wanting to be “skinny” like the other instructors. The more she tried to lose weight, the more the opposite happened and she was miserable. She finally realized she needed to follow her own “little rules” for maintaining her ideal weight and staying healthy. Click here to listen to our conversation.
Michelle's "Little Rules" for Staying Healthy:
1) Enjoy what you eat. Don’t pick up a twinkie and eat it just because it’s there. If you are going to eat something, make sure it is something you enjoy.
2) Make exercise part of your daily routine so it doesn’t feel like work. For instance, taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking in the last space at the grocery store. Those extra steps will quickly add up.
3) Be sure you stay hydrated! Not only is it good for your body it works wonders on those wrinkles!
Michelle’s approach to nutrition expands beyond having a healthy relationship with your food, but also into creating healthy relationships with friends, colleagues and money. Find out more at www.modernwellnessliving.com.
