New Year’s Resolutions: Does She or Doesn’t She?

That is the question! After sharing this fun fact “According to research on the topic, about 60 percent of us admit that we make New Year's resolutions but only about 8 percent of us are successful in achieving them. Regardless of whether we achieved our previous resolutions, most of us go right ahead and make a new set of resolutions -- hoping for the best.” Susan F. Moody, the host of The Successful Soulopreneur Radio Show sponsored by Starshine Communities, asked each of her co-hosts whether they made any resolutions for 2020.
Here ARE THE ANSWERS FROM our panel:
ShaRon Rea, The Whole Family Coaching
I stopped doing resolutions. I do three motivating words that I can use to evaluate how I do throughout the year. I choose three words to signify where I want to focus my energy and intentions for the upcoming year. And, I like all three words to start with the same letter. In 2020, these words are: Visibility and Vitality = Victory.
Pam Prine, Keystone Capital Management Group
I pick a one-word theme to my year. This year my word is “Declutter”. I’m going to start by decluttering my master bedroom closet, but I also want to declutter my soul and I want to declutter my brain. I'm decluttering all three simultaneously and I'm doing just small bits with each one at a time.
Ro Rusnock, Elements and Energy:
Every year I write a 3-year forecast of the person I'm becoming in three years. The words flow quickly and easily and flow from my hand to the page. This year I'm just sitting in silence with my meditation and having faith that the work I’m doing and the people I’m meeting are amazing and providing me with a wonderful salary. Just being in a really great flow.
Being so goal-focused anyway, I prefer to have a rhyming theme as my guidepost to the year ahead. For 2020, it is finally free to just be. I have worked hard to achieve my current level of success and, like Ro, am ready to be more in the flow and see what comes my way this year.
By the end of the show, we were all in agreement that “it is never too late to live happily ever after”. Start today from where you are and move towards your happy place. If you would like to listen to the complete show, click here to listen in to this week’s podcast.
