You may have heard about the new trend in business of hiring a virtual assistant. The tasks and responsibilities are as varied as the kinds of businesses out there. The top 3 reasons to hire a virtual assistant may change your business and bring your productivity to a higher level, leaving you more time to focus on the IPAs (Income Producing Activities) that are essential to any thriving business.
1. Prevent Burnout.
If there are mundane things about your business that you hate doing, it’s time to make a list and find out what you can outsource. A good leader knows when to delegate. There are people who have a passion for helping others become successful in their business, which is what virtual assistants do on a regular basis. Don’t have time to fret over WordPress? Is social media posting and scheduling taking away from your precious time with clients? Do you waste hours searching through unorganized files looking for things and wish you had time to put things in order to simplify your business processes? Make a list of things you can’t afford to waste time doing or that you don’t have the skills to do but are essential in your business. That is a good place to start.
2. Cost.
From spreadsheets to html, there are virtual assistants out there who have specialized or even generalized skills to take care of what you need at a price you can afford. The best part is, you don’t have to hire a full-time employee to do these. Although the hourly rate may be slightly higher than the hourly rate of a physical employee, most VAs have monthly packages or even hourly a la cart pricing that makes much better financial sense in the long run. They’re independent contractors, so you don’t have to pay benefits, taxes, or supply workspace or office equipment for them. You have unlimited options when it comes to virtual contractors, so you can find exactly who you need with the right skills at the right price. Hiring out branding creation for $25 an hour for a 2 hour project is much less expensive than going with a design agency that would charge ten times that price.
3. Growth.
A virtual assistant can focus on the tasks that take you away from growing your business, leaving you more time to concentrate on the purpose and passion of your business that got you started in the first place. A business that grows will eventually include more than one employee, so even if you’re not at the level of revenue you’d like, the investment of hiring someone who can free you up to focus on the things that will grow your business is really one of the best things you can do to get to that level. If you were the owner or CEO that you’d ultimately like to become, what tasks would the people working for you be taking care of? That is a great place to start when considering what processes to outsource. You can decide how much or how little to delegate, and what activities provide the greatest income and value to your business so that you can have the mechanics and mundane tasks performed by someone else. You’ll have that foundational level assistance to really grow your business with your talents and skills being put to use where they matter most.
