Question of the day: what is something that gave you joy as a child, but then someone either told you that you couldn’t do it or that you were no good at it or it was taken away from you? Cz the Day! radio guest, Leeanne Gardner Kalbaugh, of www.unbridleit.com, reminds us that as adults we have the power to explore what makes our heart sing and live every day to the fullest.
Growing up, Leeann loved horses. They were all she cared about, until her heart was broken when parents divorced and she had to sell her beloved horse. It took her 17 years to realize that the balance she was missing in her life had to do with her self-imposed restriction of having anything to do with horses. She had cut herself off from the very thing that gave her joy to prevent herself from experiencing the pain of loss. Click here to listen to Leeanne’s story.
So what is missing from your life? What piece of you can you reconnect with that will bring more joy? Her best advice is to unbridle your passion and listen to Howard Thurman: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because the world needs is more people who come alive”.
